Library Services Available to Patrons with Disabilities

The City College Libraries are committed to providing equal access to all library materials, services and facilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 to support all members of the college community. Physical Access to the Libraries

The Libraries are physically accessible facilities.

The Cohen Library is located in the North Academic Center Building. The library is accessible via the TECH Center.  Additionally, the building’s ramp and ground floor elevators provide access to the library’s entrance.  The library has four accessible elevators on all five levels.  All restrooms on each floor of Library are accessible.

The Science/Engineering Library is located in The Marshak Building which provides a wheelchair lift to gain entry or a wheelchair ramp from St. Nicholas Terrace.

The Music Library is located on the first level of Shepard Hall, and is accessible from the ground floor elevator which provides access to the library’s entrance.  The library also has an accessible elevator to access level one and two.

The Architecture Library is located in the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture Building. The building’s ramp and ground floor elevator provide direct access to the library’s entrance.

The Dominican Studies Institute Archives/Library is located in the North Academic Center Building, room. The building’s ramp and ground floor elevators provide direct access to the library’s entrance.

The Center for Worker Education (CWE) Library is located within the lower Manhattan campus of the City College of New York on 25 Broadway, 7th floor, room 7-28. The library is accessible from the ground floor elevator which provides access to the library’s entrance.

Material Access

Stop by the Reference/Circulation Desk to have books and/or journals retrieved from the shelves of any CCNY Library. If you are doing extensive library research, you may contact the library in advance to make an appointment. Photocopiers | Scanners

The libraries have photocopy machines and scanners available for use. To obtain journal articles or assistance with the photocopiers/scanners please submit a request at the Reference/Circulation Desk.  Please be sure to register with the CCNY AccessAbility Center/Student Disability Services, North Academic Center, room 1/218.
