Welcome back to CCNY Libraries - Fall 2021

by Daisy Dominguez on 2021-08-25T12:42:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

Dear CCNY Libraries community,

CCNY Libraries has re-opened as a study space for vaccinated patrons and for book pick up for all others as of August 25, 2021. Please visit our website for seat reservation and book pick up details. Reference librarians are available to help via limited in-person reference hours as well as chat, text, or e-mail. Faculty may request hybrid (asynchronous and synchronous) information literacy classes and consult librarians about e-book requests. Please check your CCNY e-mail for our broadcast messages, read our blog and follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) to keep up with the latest CCNY Libraries news.

I would like to send a special thanks to all Libraries staff who have been coming back consistently in waves since 2020 to ensure that our databases are running; since January 2021 for the faculty book pick-up service; and since early this summer to prepare for today. It’s those of you who have pitched in during extraordinary circumstances who have helped make a difficult time a memorable and hopeful one.

Thanks to Prof. Ellen Handy (Art Department) and Archives College Assistant Jerry Beersdorf (MLIS candidate at Queens College) who were kind enough to install one of the beautiful paintings in the CCNY art collection on my wall in June. It’s a piece by artist Marion Greenstone called Comp #456. If you’ve ever been curious about artwork in an area you frequent, please check out our Flickr account for more particulars. In the photo above, Jerry is standing by Marion Greenstone’s Comp #456.

It’s good to see you on campus again. Please remember to wear a mask and social distance. Stay safe and have a wonderful semester!

Interim Associate Dean & Chief Librarian
