Finding and Using Statistics

Finding statistics has gotten much easier since government orgranizations began posting their results online. If you're not sure which government agency you should using, you can just add the word statistics to your subject search along with the url endings of .gov, .edu, .org to limit your search to non-profit websites.

You may find your statistics in the form of raw data. Raw data may require that you create your own unique tables, maps, analysis, etc.

Statistics may not be the term used by the organization you are looking for. Try substituting the word statisitcs for something in the list below to see if you can improve your results:

  • Data
  • Tables
  • Tools
  • Figures
  • Publications
  • Poll
  • Survey
