A guide to mobile research tools as selected by the City College of New York Library.

Research Apps

ARTstor Mobile over 1,000,000 images from the ARTstor Digital Library are now accessible through apple products. Check out the Flashcard View, which allows you to test your knowledge by viewing the image without textual information, and then flipping the image to reveal the image record.

EBSCOhost Mobile a portal to 50+ databases providing indexing and abstracting for tens of thousands of scholarly journals, magazines, and reference sources in all areas of study.  After you download the app, get content provided by the City College Libraries.

BrowZine Stay current with scholarly journals in your research area(s) via your phone, tablet or web browser. BrowZine consolidates journals from several publishers, allowing you to read and browse issues through a single interface rather than looking up each journal individually.

JSTOR Mobile (Beta) Search and browse JSTOR citations from a mobile device.

WorldCat Mobile (Beta) Search and request from library catalogs around the world. Find nearby libraries that have the book you want, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) Library, and Weill-Cornell Medical Library.

Royal Society of Chemistry Journals (RSC) publishes nearly 40 peer-reviewed journals.  All of the RSC journals are scholarly, peer-reviewed publications oriented toward senior or higher level researchers.

Springer Link contains articles from over 2,000 peer-reviewed journals and chapters from 49,000 books, from the disciplines of science, technology, and medicine.

Proquest Mobile (beta) supports the same authoritative content and many of the same features and research tools you are used to using on laptop, desktop, and tablet devices. See how it works, and then give it a try.
