Friends of the Library

The purpose of the Friends of the Library program is to

  • Encourage gifts, endowments, bequests & donations of appropriate materials to strengthen the collections.
  • Support the services, facilities and activities of the Library.
  • Sponsor activities and events that promote knowledge of, and interest in the Library.
  • Promote the relationship between the College, the Library, and the community.

Become a Library Friend

Becoming a Friend of the Library is easy! Membership benefits vary by donation:

  • $35 = Winter Friend (Library use during winter session)
  • $50 = Summer Friend (Library use during summer sessions)
  • $100 = Regular (Library use)
  • $150 = Sesquicentennial (Library use, invitations and tickets to all events)
  • $250 = Friend (Library use, invitations and tickets to all events, your name on the Library Wall of Honor)
  • $500 = Patron (Library borrowing privileges, invitations and tickets to all events, your name on the Wall of Honor)
  • $1,000 = Founder (Library borrowing privileges, invitations and tickets to all events, your name on the Wall of Honor)

Library Use Policies for Friends of the Library

  • Access to library study space in all CCNY Libraries.
  • Access to the internet will be through the library computers, no visitor logins are available.
  • Access to the print Library books and the print journal collection for on-site use only. Borrowing privileges available at the higher membership rate.
  • Access to most, but not all, databases on-site only through library computers. 
  • Research support from qualified reference librarians.
  •  Library Newsletter is available online.
  •  Booksale access. The booksale takes place in the Fall and the Spring, and announcements are posted in the two Monitors located on the 2nd floor inside the North Academic Center Cohen library.
