City College faculty, undergraduate/graduate students and staff with a current CCNY ID and an unblocked library account may use this service.
How do I log in?
First time ILL users MUST create an account in order to login and submit a request. Log in to ILLiad to create an account or to submit a request here. When signing up, be sure to use your City College email address and barcode or EMPLID number on the form.
What can I request?
Journal Articles/Book Chapters
If a journal is unavailable at CCNY, use the citation information to request the article via the ILL request form. Book chapters or sections available within and outside of CUNY can also be requested through ILL.
Books and Other Materials
In ILLiad, fill out the New Request form for books.
In OneSearch, unavailable items include the suggestion to Try Your Search in WorldCat.
In WorldCat, click the blue Find it! box for options at CUNY to autofill an ILLiad request form. Log in to ILLiad at the prompt if you are not already signed in.
Where do I pick up my materials?
The ILL office will contact you via email when your item is ready for pick up. Book pickup is at the Cohen Library Circulation Desk.
Journal articles or book sections can be found within ILLiad under the View tab by clicking the Electronically Received Articles link.
Patrons may only have a certain number of active requests at one time:
Undergraduates = 8 requests
Graduate students/CCNY staff = 15 requests
CCNY faculty = 18 requests
How long will it take to get my ILL materials?
Most ILL books arrive within a week to 10 business days; electronically-delivered articles take approximately 24 hours. Login to your ILL account here to track your requests.
Can I renew my items?
The library from where the item originates determines renewal policies, so be sure to return ILL items on time.To renew your ILL books, login to your ILLiad account and click on the View/Renew Checked Out Items button. We will inform you of your new due date once we hear from the lending library.
Are there fines?
The overdue fine is $1.00 per day per item. If an item expires on the shelf, there is a fine of $10 per item for not picking it up (since there are shipping, packing and processing fees involved in each transaction).
