Get to know your Libraries

There are five libraries on CCNY campus. Library materials are grouped by related subjects.

  • Cohen (NAC 2nd floor) -- History, Social Sciences, Language and Literature, etc.
  • Music (Shepard 160) -- Music and Books on Music
  • Science (Marshak J29) -- Geography, Science, Medicine, Technology
  • Architecture (Spitzer 101) -- Technology
  • Dominican Studies Institute (NAC 2/202) -- Dominican studies

Need to access library resources from off-campus? Be sure to get your library barcode validated at the circulation desk.

The library website is home base for all available research resources, including the library catalog OneSearch.

One added benefit of being a CUNY student is having access to all CUNY campus library study spaces and collections.

Off-campus Access

Logging into Databases

Use your CCNY email address and associated password for off campus access to most CCNY databases and journals (which includes the core set of databases and journals shared by all CUNY libraries). You must enter access resources from the library's A-Z list, or from the Journals by Title list, then follow the log in prompt.

When you click on a database from off campus, you will see the login screen pictured. Enter your email username and associated password.

  • For students, your login is your CityMail address
    • username@citymail.cuny.edu
  • For faculty & staff, your login is your CCNY email
    • username@ccny.cuny.edu

Logging into OneSearch

The CCNY Libraries catalog, OneSearch, uses the CUNY single login credentials, which are first.lastXX@login.cuny.edu. This allows you to request books from other CUNY campuses.
