I’m writing with some mid-semester NYPL updates to provide CCNY users with the most current information on accessing the Library’s resources.
Digital Library Cards
All students, faculty and staff at colleges and universities throughout New York State are eligible for an NYPL library card, and can sign up to gain immediate access to the Library’s remote resources here.
*Please note that students and faculty at NYS institutions who are signing up from an out-of-state IP address will not receive immediate remote access and should validate their card by email following the instructions in the new user welcome email.
Shared Collection Expanded
Nearly four million volumes held by Harvard University have been added to the ReCAP Shared Collection, a partnership between Columbia University, The New York Public Library, Princeton University Library, and Harvard. NYPL cardholders may use the Research Catalog to request scans from these items, or to place requests for delivery to any Research Center. Most of these items are eligible for lending via the Library’s research borrower programs.
Research Consultations and Class Visits
Our research librarians are available for online consultations regarding services, collections, and research queries, as well as virtual class visits. Many of our class visits this year have been arranged by CUNY librarians. We welcome this kind of collaboration and look forward to continuing to build connections. Online Programming
All NYPL virtual and onsite program details can be accessed via our Events page, but much of our Research-specific programming can also be found on our Center for Research in the Humanities website. These events are often followed by a blog post, which includes the video and related research resources.
