In case you missed it…
The April episode of CUNY TV’s online show Urban U included a feature highlighting CCNY’s Hatch-Billops Oral History of Black Culture – a collection of over 200 rare, unpublished interviews with artists, actors, writers, musicians and other notable figures from the early 1970s. Having recently digitized the original reel-to-reel recordings, CCNY Libraries has recently made the entire collection accessible to CUNY researchers through the library database Artstor – for more information on the project and how to access, please see our earlier blog post here.
For those looking for a sneak preview of the online collection, check out the CUNY TV segment below which includes sample audio clips from interviews with artist Faith Ringgold, conductor Leonard DePaur and pianist/composer Eubie Blake.
