Digital Scholarship Services assists faculty and staff to find, create, and implement Open Educational Resources (OER) for their courses. Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research materials that can be freely used, including full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and grading rubrics. By designing courses with these zero-cost and open license materials, faculty can also be eligible for awards under the CUNY OER initiative.
Contact us at OER@ccny.cuny.edu or email Digital Scholarship Librarian Ching-Jung Chen at cchen@ccny.cuny.edu if you would like to build OER into your courses.
Put OER to work for you!
OER (Open Educational Resources) are teaching materials, such as textbooks, for which copyright restrictions are minimized with an open-copyright license. In CUNY, Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) resources are considered OER, even though they are fee-based, because they are already available through CCNY Libraries’ subscriptions, and will not cost students extra money.
