Research Steps:
1. Define your research topic
What are you interested in? What do you want to find out? What do you intend to demonstrate/argue/prove in your paper?
2. Get an overview and background information of the topic
Use general and subject specific encyclopedias, refine and narrow down your topic, and find key search terms to use
3. Identify the types of resources you need
print/electronic? books? journal/magazine/newspaper articles? images? statistics? blogs? interviews? video clips? sound recordings?
4. Search for information

5. Evaluate information and sources
accurate? current? appropriate for academic research papers?
6. Cite your sources
Use MLA, APA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.
