Floorplans: Music Library

Books and scores are arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification scheme: Class M for Music and Books about Music

  • -- Scores. Scores are shelved in three sections by size: miniature, regular stacks and oversize. 
  • ML -- Books on music literature, history, and criticism. Tip: Check section ML410 for biographies of musicians and composers.  
  • MT -- Books on music theory, composition, pedagogy, and technique for instrumental/vocal study. 

Book and Scores

The music library's collection has an extensive collection of scores including vocal and orchestral scores, chamber music, transcriptions, fake-books and popular and folk sheet music. 

Scores are housed in the lower level of the music library and arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification scheme. Most scores may be checked out for the same loan periods as books.
